The effect of guided imagination strategy in the development of the logical thinking for mathematics for the second-grade intermediate students [Article]
The research aims to identify the effect of guided imagination strategy in the development of the logical thinking for mathematics for the second-grade intermediate students. To achieve the research aim, the tow researchers formulated ten hypotheses zero conditions, the sample of the research consisted of (61) students of the second-grade intermediate students, the researchers chose them intentionally from Al Elem Al Nafia Secondary School for Boys divided in to two groups, one of them to represent the experimental group which contains (29) students and the other group is traditional which contains (29) students. The valency made between the two groups in number of variants. The experimental design of two proportionate groups is adopted, to achieve the research objectives, the two researchers prepared a test of Logical thinking skills (Classification, Arranging, Compatibility and Correlation), the final version of the test consisted of (32) items characterized by validity, discrimination and reliability. The experiment was applied in the second semester of the school year (2018-2019). A pretest application was conducted to test logical thinking skills, then the two groups were taught according to the plans prepared for each group and then applied the test of logical thinking skills afterwards, after collecting data and analyzing it statically, the result shows: 1) There is a statistically at the level significant of (0.05) difference between the mean scores of the experimental group students as whole and skills: (Classification and Correlation) benefit of experimental group students which was studied according to guided imagination strategy. 2) There is no statistically at the level significant of (0.05) difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and students of the traditional group in the two skills: (Arranging and Compatibility). 3) There is a statistically at the level significant of (0.05) difference between the mean difference scores of the experimental group students in the skills: (Classification, Arranging, Compatibility and Correlation) in the tribal and later test. In light of the results of the research, the researchers came up with a In the light of the result of the research, the researchers came up with a number of conclusions like the effect of guided imagination strategy In the Development of the Logical Thinking for Mathematics for the second-grade Intermediate students compared to the usual way and formulate some recommendations in addition to futuristic studies suggestions.
