Arab Educational Information Network

This paper aims to explore the possibility of using digital or E-books in the educational systems in the Arab world. The recognition of this new technique in education and the requirements of its application in education systems in the Arab schools and also the ability of these schools to accommodate and offer technical requirements, financial and technical requirements to employ them in education and the ability of the Arab schools to use it are discussed and analyzed here. Requirements of this technique represented by: good infrastructure including qualified technical staff, and technology in order to gain the maximum benefits from their application and benefit to the operators of the educational process for both students and teachers and professionals and also for parents. The principles of e-books applied on mechanical control systems at Faculty of Engineering Technology-AlBalqa applied university (FET/BAU). It is found that the education systems in Arab schools have the capability to absorb and employ this technique after offering some technical requirements represented by providing good infrastructure in Arab schools which includes the following: computers and readers of the E-book, good internet services, providing appropriate training for both the student and the teacher and technical setups in schools, and finally the desire to change and to convince the student and the teacher to develop themselves and move from traditional education (boards, traditional books, and teachers) into the world of development and progress to open students horizons and diffuse the human potential in the Arab world. An e-book is created for a chapter of the mechanical control systems course learned at FET/BAU. (Published abstract)
