The present study aims to identify the priority level of the information that the mothers and fathers of children with disabilities would like to obtain? In correlation with father’s sex and age, child's sex and age, type of disability, and communication patterns favored by mothers and fathers of children with disabilities with professionals to get this information? (80) mothers and fathers of children with special needs participated in this study, the sample of parents were intentional selected, a sample available to researchers of (56) father (24) mother. To achieve the objectives of this study a tool was developed, based on previous studies and related research, to identify the priority of parents to have access to information and their favorite patterns of communication with professionals. The questionnaire included (5) dimensions and (35) paragraphs. The results indicate that the level of priority in getting information to parents was high in all dimensions. The highest average is for the dimension of helping the family to find and use more support with a priority of (99.38 %), followed by a priority of advocacy and working with professionals with a mean of (3.97) and a priority level of (99.27 %). Finally the dimension of helping the family to relax and enjoy life with a mean of (3.96) and a priority level of (98.88 %). As for the methods and techniques favored by parents to obtain information, results show that the most favored way for parents in communicating with professionals is via written material, as the percentage of frequency scores (40.17 %), followed by individual meetings as a method of communication with a percentage of (38.52 %), and finally group meetings parents, with a percentage of frequency (21.23 %). This study shows the presence of the urgent needs of parents of children with disabilities, and recommends the need to empower families and provide them with the information they need taking into consideration the preferences of each family to access to information.
