This study aimed to developing a power of Personality scale which is new in Arabic environment, and to detected the differences between male and female university students in power of personality variable. A power of personality scale is consisted of 90 items distributed equally to six sub dimensions where each dimension consisted of fifteen items. The scale was applied on two samples consists of 597 (279 male, 318 female) taken from university students whose ages ranged from 18 to 30 years. The first sample was Egyptian (374) students from Zagazig University, (176 males, 198 females) with an average age of (22.69) years and a standard deviation of (3.425). The second sample was Saudi students from King Khalid University. It consisted of (223) students, (103 males, 120 females), with an average age of (23.36) years, and a standard deviation of (3.20). The validity of a Power of Personality scale was examined by using external validity, internal consistency and terminal comparison. The reliability was examined by using Cronbach's alpha and split- half method. The results showed that a power of personality scale has significances of validity and reliability which are appropriate for Egyptian and Saudi samples. The power of personality scale prepared for this study can be trusted and applied in Egyptian and Saudi environments. The results also showed that there was no significant statistically difference between males and females in Egyptian student’s sample in (dimension – total score) of a power of personality scale, although it found a significant statistically difference between males and females in Saudi students’ sample in (dimension – total score) of a power of personality scale in favour of male. The study recommended that further researches should be conducted to verify the psychometric properties of the scale on other samples in other Arab environments. (Published abstract)
