هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف إلى واقع البرلمان المدرسي ودوره في التربية الديمقراطية في المدارس الثانوية الخاصة في لواء الجامعة، تم استخدام المنهج النوعي والوصفي التحليلي، والإعتماد على المقابلة والإستبانة لجمع البيانات، وتم اختيار عينة الدراسة بالطريقة العشوائية حيث بلغت (24) معلما ومعلمة، و(341) طالبا وطالبة، أظهرت نتائج مقابلات المعلمين أن واقع البرلمان المدرسي جيد، وأنه يهيئ الطلبة للحياة البرلمانية والحياة الديمقراطية، ويعزز بعض جوانب الشخصية لدى الطلبة، وأنه لا دور للأسرة في تعزيز الإشتراك في البرلمان المدرسي، أما نتائج الاستبانة فقد كشفت أن دور البرلمان في التربية الديقراطية كان متوسطا، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في التربية الديمقراطية لدى الطلبة تعزى للجنس. وأوصت الدراسة باستمرار فعاليات البرلمانات المدرسية. The aim of this study was to identify the reality of the school parliament and its role in democratic education in private secondary schools in the university district. The qualitative and analytical descriptive method was used, relying on interview and questionnaire to collect data. The sample was selected randomly, and consist of (24) teachers and (341) male and female students, the results of teacher interviews showed that the reality of the school parliament is good, it prepares students for parliamentary life and democratic life, and strengthens some aspects of the personality of students, and that there is no role for the family in promoting participation in the student parliament. The results of the questionnaire revealed that the level democratic education was middle, and there were no statistically significant differences in the democratic education of students due to gender. The study recommended continuing the activities of school parliaments. (Published abstract)
