تهدف هذه الدراسة لرصد المدارس والمؤسسات التربوية والتعليمية في مدينة القدس العثمانية وجوارها خلال التاسع عشر، وقد تتبعت المدارس التاريخية وتبعيتها ووظائفها الإدارية، وشيوخها، ومدرسيها، ونظارها، ومناهجها التعليمية، إضافة إلى الوقوف على المؤسسات التعليمية الصوفية (كالخوانق والربط والزوايا) وما يلحق بها من تكايا ومقامات وترب، والتي استمر بعضها، وتوقف البعض الآخر منها، كما تمت الإشارة إلى المكتبات ودورها خلال الفترة المدروسة. وقد تم دراسة ما يقارب من تسعٍ وأربعين مؤسسة تعليمية لم يتم الإشارة إليها من قبل والتي أسهمت في رفد المؤسسة التعليمية التاريخية في فلسطين، والوقوف على بيان المؤسسات التعليمية التي حفلت بها المصادر الأساسية للتتبع واقع هذه المؤسسات في مظانها، والإفادة منها، للحفاظ على هويتها الإسلامية العربية المقدسية العريقة. This study aims at exploring the educational and teaching institutions at Alquds Ottoman City and the neighboring areas in the 19th (nineteenth century) the two researchers (the researchers) studied the historical schools it's administrative reference, its tutors (shaikhs) and instructors in addition to the educational curricula and administrational also, it hinges on the Suffi educational institution that were operating at that period, and some of them had stopped working. Further, certain private libraries were pinpointed during nineteenth century. The researchers examined fifty nine educational institution that were not studied before for the sake of benefiting, from it and maintaining it's unique Islamic, Arabic and AlQuds identity.
