استهدف البحث الحالي التعرف على مفهوم الصبر لدى عينة من طلبة جامعة الموصل والبالغ عددهم (800) طالب وطالبة موزعين على التخصصات العلمية والانسانية على مستوى الصف الدراسي الاول والرابع إضافة إلى مستوى الجنس (ذكور- إناث)، قام الباحثان ببناء مقياس لمتغير الصبر، استخدم الباحثان اجراءات الصدق والثبات ومعامل التميز لتحديد الخصائص السايكومترية للمقياس كما استخدم الباحثان الوسائل الإحصائية المناسبة لأهداف البحث او فيما يتعلق بالنتائج، فقد أشارت نتائج البحث الى ان طلبة الجامعة يمتلكون مستوى متوسط من الصبر. أما على صعيد الفروق في متغير الجنس والتخصص الصف الدراسي فقد اشارت النتائج الى وجود فروق دالة في متغير الجنس لصالح الذكور. أما فيما يتعلق بمتغير التخصص فقد كانت هنالك فروق دالة لصالح التخصص الانساني. أما بالنسبة للصف الدراسي فقد كان هنالك فروق دالة لصالح الصف الرابع. في ضوء نتائج البحث تم تقديم مجموعة من التوصيات والمقترحات. This research aims at recognizing the concept of patience on a sample of Mosul University students, the sample contested of 800 students (males and female) distributed to scientific and humanitarian specialty on the first and fourth grade, in addition to the sex level (male-female), the researcher built a special standard for the patience level, the researcher used the measurement of veracity, constancy, and coefficient of denoting for limit the psychometric characteristics for the standard, the researcher used the suitable statistical devices for the researches' aims or what related with the results, the results pointed out that the university students have middle level of patience, on the level of differences in sex, specialty, and the class, the results pointed out in the sex change for males, in the specialty variable was for the humanitarian specialty, the calls change came for the fourth class. The researcher presents some recommendations and suggestion. (Published abstract)
