This study aims to state the difficulties of learning Arabic grammar which are encountered by pretertiary students and tertiary students who are non-Arabic specialists. It also aims to diagnose the causes of these learning difficulties and overcome them and suggest some solutions. In addition to that, the study is expected to develop the linguistic skills among the university students who are not specialized in Arabic Language. It is also supposed to promote the students’ capabilities to fulfill their jobs in their professional lives properly according to their various specializations. The method adopted in this study is descriptive and analytic. The study came out with the following major findings: 1) Students face a lot of difficulties and problems in learning Arabic grammar which make the language hard to understand. This leads to complaints against the language and demotivation to learn it. 2) There is a great gap between what non-Arabic specialists study and their actual linguistic needs in their professional lives after graduation. They need syllabi to develop their skills in reading the Quran, employing punctuation and spelling rules, presenting speeches and studying Prophetic sayings (Hadith). 3) Functional grammar is one of the most successful theories; it is appropriate for teaching and learning Arabic grammar. It is also important to update Arabic teaching methods. This is because functional grammar aims at reinforcing skills to be performed by students correctly. Keywords: 1) Difficulties: problems that hinder students’ understanding and learning of Arabic grammar. 2) Learning: practicing and repeating the different language skills as well as the grammatical rules to be proficient and accurate. 3) Students: students of pre-tertiary level and university students who are not specialized in Arabic Language. 4) Reasons: Factors hindering students’ learning of Arabic Language. 5) Solutions: suggestions that contribute in overcoming the difficulties of learning Arabic Language.
