The descriptive approach was applied to the research population of about (585) graduate students and (79) faculty members. Two questionnaires were utilized for evaluating the open book tests and for their constraints respectively. The results of the study showed that the percentage of using the open book in the educational programs at King Khalid University from the students' point of view reached (14.36%), which was a simple ratio. There were statistically significant differences according to sex variable in favor of males, and the percentage of its use from the point of view of faculty members was (25.31%). The research concluded that there were statistically significant differences in the percentage of its use from the point of view of faculty members in the light of the degree in favor of a professor's degree compared to that of assistant professor. Students assessed its use as better measurement of research skills, higherorder thinking skills, and appropriateness for graduate studies, and its readiness makes learning more impactful and deeper the results also showed that there were statistically significant differences in the evaluation of students for its use, in the light of specialization and program and the differences in the light of the degree program (Master / PhD) for the benefit of doctoral students in the curriculum and general teaching methods program, the most important constraints of applying the open book tests from the professor' point of view were that the nature of postgraduate courses does not suit it, and that its application requires training of students.
