This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of utilizing the “Adobe Photoshop” Software on developing the art appreciation skill among the basic tenth Grade students in the Art Education subject and their motivation towards learning Art Education. The researcher used a quasi-experimental research design. Sixty students in 10th grade were chosen purposefully at Al-Iscan Basic School during the second semester 2017/2018. Section One was chosen to be the control group which consisted of (30) students who were taught through the conventional method. Section Two was the experimental group which consisted of (30) students and were acquired the art appreciation skill by using Adobe Photoshop Software. To achieve the objectives of the study, an Art Appreciation test was applied to measure the art appreciation skill among 10th graders in the Art Education subject, and a scale for measuring their motivation towards learning Art Education was developed. The validity and reliability of the study instruments were conducted. Face validity and validity of experts were examined in terms of content, shape and suitability of domains. Experts, who were specialized in instruction & curriculum, Education Technology, and evaluation and measurement, validated the instruments to maintain clarity of items, the use of suitable language, the belonging of items to their domains, the appropriateness of instruments to the purpose of the study. To ensure reliability, a test and a re-test were applied on a pilot study of 20 students from outside the sample. There were two weeks between the two times of application. Perason Correlation was used to test the art appreciation skill, and it was (0.79). Cronbach Alpha formula was used to establish reliability of the test. The value obtained was (0.82). All reliability coefficients of the motivation scale: Pearson (0.81), Cronbach Alpha (0.80). The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the development of Art Appreciation Skill among students, and in their motivation towards learning Art Education due to teaching methodology.
