Aim of the research was to identify the effectiveness of a suggested training program on development of some competencies of diagnosis and treatment of speech sound disorders for the teachers of intellectual education in Jazan region, a suggested training program was prepared and included a group of competencies for diagnosing and treatment speech sound disorders. And some tools used in the training process. The research used a quasi-experimental method, pretest-posttest design for a single group. The research tools included a scale of the diagnosis and treatment of speech sound disorders among the teachers of intellectual education. The sample of the study was 17 teachers from schools and institutes of intellectual education in Jazan region. The result indicate that the suggested training program was effective in the development of the competencies of diagnosis and treatment of speech sound disorders for intellectual education teachers in the region of Jazan.
