هدفت الدراسة تعرف المفاهيم الفيزيائية الواردة في كتاب العلوم للصف الثامن الأساسي ومدى اكتساب الطلبة لها في مديرية التربية والتعليم لمنطقة الكرك، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم تحليل محتوى الوحدات الخاصة بالفيزياء في كتاب العلوم العامة، وتصنيف المفاهيم الواردة فيه إلى فئاتها، وتم إعداد اختبار لاكتساب المفاهيم الفيزيائية. وتكون مجتمع الدراسة وعينته من المفاهيم الفيزيائية الواردة في كتاب العلوم العامة، في حين تكونت عينة الدراسة من (378) طالباً وطالبة تم اختيارهم بالطريقة العشوائية العنقودية. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن مجموع المفاهيم الفيزيائية الواردة في الكتاب (114) مفهوما ًوزعت على النحو الآتي: مفاهيم الضوء أولاً، ثم تلاها مفاهيم الحركة، ثم مفاهيم الموجات، ثم مفاهيم الكهرباء ومفاهيم القوة ثم مفاهيم الصوت، وأخيراً مفاهيم الاتصالات، وأن مستوى اكتساب الطلبة للمفاهيم الفيزيائية الواردة في الكتاب أقل من المستوى المقبول تربوياً. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج توصي الدراسة بضرورة إعادة النظر في المفاهيم الفيزيائية وطريقة عرضها في المحتوى، والتركيز على ربط المفاهيم الفيزيائية في كتب العلوم مع واقع الحياة أثناء عملية التدريس. The study aimed at recognizing the Physics concepts found in the General Science textbook for eighth grade, and the degree of acquiring those concepts by Eighth graders at AL-Karak Directorate of Education. It also aimed at classifying the Physics concepts into its categories and preparing a test to show the degree of conceptual acquisition. The community of study consisted of Physics concepts found in the general science textbook. The sample of the study consisted of (378) students chosen by the cluster randomized method. The study results showed that (114) Physics concepts were found the textbook. The concepts were categorized from the most frequently mentioned to the least. Those concepts were the concepts of light, motion, waves, electricity, force, sound and communication. The level of students' acquisition of the previously mentioned concepts was less than the educationally accepted level. The study recommends to look to reconsider the concepts and the way how it is presented in the content, and focusing on linking physical concepts in science textbook with practical life during teaching.
