هدف البحث إلى التعرف أهم أساب العنف لدي طلاب الجامعة، كما هدفت تعرف دور المؤسسات التربوية في مواجهة العنف وتقديم مقترحات لمواجهة العنف داخل الجامعة، وباعتبار أن الجامعة جزء لا يتجزأ من المجتمع ولا يمكن عزلها عنة فقد تأثرت هي أيضا بهذه الأحداث وأصبحت تعانى من العنف بين طلابها بشكل وبائي خطير وأن أعمال العنف مقصوراً على جامعة بعينها و إنما انتشرت بشكل وبائي خطير وأن أعمال العنف داخل الجامعة تصاعدت في الآونة الأخيرة وأخذت صوراً وأشكالاً مختلفة مثل المعارك بين الطلاب والاعتداءات على الموظفين والإداريين وحضور الطلاب وبحوزتهم الأسلحة البيضاء والتخريب المتعمد للمباني الجامعية وتعاطي المخدرات والكحوليات وغيرها من العقاقير مثل الهيروين والكوكايين والتحرش الجنسي والاغتصاب وحتى أن بعض تجار المخدرات بجميع أنواعها يعتمدون على توزيع وترويج مخدراتهم بين طلاب الجامعة أو بالطبع أن هذا العنف والسلوك العدواني والتخريبي لا يتوقف عند حدود الجامعة بل انتقل إلى البيئة المحيطة بها ويتحولون إلى أعضاء وجماعات من الأشرار والعصابات التخريبية.
