استهدفت هذه الدراسة بحث خصائص مقياس حب الحياة، وبيان ارتباطاته بمتغيرات علم النفس الإيجابي لدى عينة من طالب الجامعة في الجزائر (ن=777) فضلا عن مقارنة نتائجه بعينات عربية أخرى، وقد أجاب الطلاب عن مقياس حب الحياة، والمقياس العربي للسعادة، والقائمة العربية للتفاؤل والتشاؤم، ومقياس الرضا عن الحياة، واتسمت هذه المقاييس بمعاملات ثبات مرتفعة، فيما عدا مقياس الرضا لدى الطالبات، وتراوحت معاملات ثبات ألفا وإعادة التطبيق لمقياس حب الحياة، بين (0.74، و0.93)، إشارة إلى اتساق داخلي مرتفع، وإعادة تطبيق مقبول، وكانت معاملات الارتباط بين مقياس حب الحياة والمقاييس السابق ذكرها دالة إحصائيا، إشارة إلى الصدق المرتبط بالمحك، وأسفر عن تحليل المكونات الأساسية عامل ثنائي القطب، مرتفع التشبعات، سمي: "حب الحياة والتفاؤل مقابل التشاؤم"، ولم تظهر فروق جوهرية بين الجنسين في حب الحياة، ويميل متوسط مقياس حب الحياة في عينة الجزائر إلى الارتفاع، ويتسق ذلك مع الموقع المتقدم للجزائر في التقرير الدولي للسعادة، ويعتمد ذلك على عوامل عدة، من بينها وجود مصادر كبيرة للنفط والغاز الطبيعي في الجزائر، وهو ما يرفع من نوعية الحياة وحب الحياة. The aim of this study was (a) to investigate the psychometric properties of the love of life scale (LLS), (b) to estimate its associations with positive psychology variables, and (c) to compare its mean scores with previous studies. A sample of (777) undergraduates from Algeria was recruited. They responded to the LLS, the Arabic Scale of Happiness, the Arabic Schedule of Optimism and Pessimism, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale. These scales have good alpha reliability coefficients except for the Satisfaction Scale among females. Alpha and test-retest reliabilities of the LLS ranged between (74) and (93), indicating good internal consistency and acceptable stability. All the correlations between the LLS and the above-mentioned scales were statistically significant. A principal component analysis retained one high-loaded factor labeled “Love of life and optimism versus pessimism”. Sex-related difference in LLS was not significant. The mean LLS score of the Algerian students tended to be high. This result was congruent with the advanced order of Algeria in the World Happiness Report. (Published abstract)
