The objective of the current research is to measure the effectiveness of multimedia software program in providing the basic skills needed to produce some educational models for the students of the Faculty of Education - Sana'a University. To achieve this goal, a sample of (68) students from the departments of Class teacher and General field teacher has been chosen systematically and then distributed randomly into two independent groups, a controlled group and an experimental group, each group consists of (34) students. The researcher used the descriptive approach in defining the skills of designing and producing the educational models, and he also used the experimental method to determine the effectiveness of the program on the dependent variable. The researcher applied the experimental design to the study of the two groups. The controlled group was taught by the common traditional method, while the experimental group was taught by the use of the multimedia program. After the application of the study tools (i.e., the collection test and the pre and post observation cards), the study showed that there was a statistically significant difference of (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group and the controlled one with regard to the post-test measurement of the cognitive achievement test and the skill performance. This significant difference was in favor of the experimental group. Moreover, it also showed the same statistically significant difference between the average scores of the pre and post- test measurement with regard to the cognitive achievement test and the skill performance of the experimental group, and that was in favor of the post-test measurement. The study recommends the need to take advantage of the software that was prepared by the faculty members and their assistants in the coming years. It also recommends providing an enriched copy of the software for the students to get benefit from. (Published abstract)
