This study aimed at identifying the practice level of educational competencies among Social Studies teachers in the intermediate schools and its relation to their attitudes towards the teaching profession. To achieve the study objective, the researchers have developed an observation sheet composed of (57) items which are distributed on five dimensions. Moreover, they prepared an attitude scale composed of (30) items. The study tools were applied on a sample of (37) social studies teachers in the intermediate schools in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region that was selected using the simple random approach. The study found that the dimension of classroom management competencies was the most practiced by teachers while the dimension of using instructional technology competencies was the least practiced. The study showed that the attitudes of social studies teachers towards teaching profession were positive in most of the scale items. It also indicated that there was a positive correlation between the practice level of educational competencies of social studies teachers at the intermediate schools and their attitudes towards the teaching profession.
