تناولت الدراسة فاعلية طريقة العصف الذهني في تدريس مقرر الرياضيات لتحقيق الأهداف المعرفية لطلاب الصف الثاني الثانوي - ولاية الخرطوم - محلية شرق النيل. تنبع أهمية هذه الدراسة لقلة الدراسات التي تناولت فاعلية طريقة العصف الذهني في تدريس الرياضيات. هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى توضيح فاعلية طريقة العصف الذهني في تحقيق الأهداف المعرفية في تدريس الرياضيات في الصف الثاني الثانوي. المنهج المستخدم المنهج التجريبي. توصلت الدراسة لنتائج عدة من أهمها: تفوق طريقة العصف الذهني على الطريقة التقليدية في تحسين تحصيل الطلاب والطالبات في مادة الرياضيات. أوصت الدراسة بالآتي: ضرورة الإهتمام بتطوير طرق التدريس المستخدمة في تدريس الرياضيات وعدم اللجوء إلى الطرق التقليدية في التدريس. This study investigated the effectiveness of brain storming in teaching Mathematics course to achieve the cognitive objectives of 2nd year secondary Schools students at Khartoum state, east Nile locality. The significance of this research stems from the fact that there are few studies that tackle the effectiveness of brain – storming in teaching Mathematics. This study has aimed to highlight the effectiveness of brain – storming in achieving the objectives of teaching mathematics in 2nd year secondary schools. The empirical method was adopted in this research. This study has arrived at the following important findings: The brain storming method has proved to be better than the traditional one in improving the student's academic achievement in Mathematics. The researcher has recommended the following: There is a need to develop the existing teaching method used in teaching mathematics, there is no need to resort to the traditional methods of teaching.
