The aim of this study was to identify the effectiveness of a group counseling program to cope with psychological stress among high school students in the East Line schools of the Yatta Directorate, the sample was randomly divided into three groups: control, first experimental and second experimental groups with 12 students per group, a mentoring program based on behavioral cognitive theory implemented on them. The program included two strategies: immunization strategy against stress and problem solving strategy. The applied guidance program was highly effective for the two experimental groups where the calculated gain rate for Blake for the first experimental group that underwent the immunization strategy was (-1.45), and for the second group that underwent the problem solving strategy was (-1.21), these percentages are negative because the goal of the program is to reduce the psychological pressure of students in the sense of obtaining low degrees in post-measurement. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the pre-measurement and post-measurement applications of the psychological stress scale, where the differences between the two applications was in favor of the post application, that means there is an impact of the applied program in reducing the level of psychological stress on the members of the first and the second experimental groups. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α < 0.05) between the average scores of secondary school students of the East Line schools of Yatta Education Directorate for the first and the second experimental groups and the control group in the post-measurement of the psychological pressure scale for the first and second experimental groups, Which means reducing the psychological pressure of the members of the first and second experimental groups after being exposed to sessions of the comparing program to members of the control group whom were not exposed to the same sessions of the program. The results showed no statistically significant differences at the level of (α< 0.05) between the average scores of the two groups, the first experimental group that received the training using immunization strategy and the second experimental group that received the training using problem solving strategy in the post-measurement, this means that members of the two experimental groups who have been underwent the collective counseling program strategies have decreased their psychological stress and this indicates the effectiveness of the counseling program. The results also showed no differences between the average scores of the first and second experimental groups after the application of the indicative program and the average scores of the same groups in the sequential test after one month on the scale of psychological stress. In light of the results reached in this study, a number of recommendations were reached: The need to use the guidance methods of cognitive theory by mentors in schools and psychologists, to build preventive guidance programs aimed for students in East Yatta schools in the basic and higher stages to face the psychological pressure they suffer and immunize them against these pressures.
