The current research aims at investigating the level of the feeling of meaninglessness by university students in the light of two variables: gender and specialization (Humanities vs. Pure Sciences) to reveal whether there are any significant differences. A scale has been constructed by the researcher to measure the level of the feeling of meaninglessness. After it was checked by the psychometric features, it was applied to a randomly selected sample of (400) male and female students of the University of Basrah from both specializations (College of Education for Pure Sciences and College of Education for Human Sciences) in the academic year 2017-2018. It has been found that university students suffer a high level of the feeling of meaninglessness. There is also a difference between males and females in favor of females. Another finding is that students in the pure sciences specialization have significantly lower feeling of meaninglessness. (Published abstract)
