Interactive learning has an increasing importance in primary yet in higher education. Recently, there are many studies and platforms that attempt to implement this type of learning due to its positive role in improving the level of learning. In this research, we aim to increase the Iraqi student's ability to learn through designing, programming and implementation of an interactive learning system and then to evaluate this system in practice. The proposed system focused (as a pilot study) on the Arabic language and mathematics courses which is dedicated for the first class in primary schools. However, the interactive learning system has been designed to teach students how to read/write characters correctly, in addition to basics of mathematics through the use of interactive learning tools, as well as games, electronic stories and competitions. The proposed system was tested for 15 days on a sample of 24 seven year old students who were selected randomly, yet equally of males and females. Then, the sample was randomly divided into two identical groups. Each group included 12 students (6 males and 6 females). The first group was taught using the traditional learning method and the interactive learning method was used with the second group. The results of the test were 90.8% in traditional education and 100% in interactive learning, which showed the great effect of interactive learning on students’ performance. (Published abstract)
