The study aimed at identifying the degree of appreciation of the students of Al-Quds Open University for the difficulties encountered in learning the course (science and health and teaching methods 1), to find out if there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of these difficulties attributed to the variables (Gender, level of study).To achieve this, the researcher followed the descriptive / analytical approach by applying a questionnaire consisting of 27 paragraphs divided into three fields on a sample of 166 students from Al Quds Open University. The results found that: 1) the total degree of appreciation of the difficulties faced by students at Al-Quds Open University in the course (Health Sciences and Teaching Methods 1) was at a relative weight (54.25%) with a medium degree. The field of difficulties related to the student was in the first rank with a relative weight of 58.41% Difficulties related to the content of the course in the second rank with a relative weight (55.57%) and a medium level, followed by the difficulty of the supervisor in the third rank with relative weight (47.92%). 2) there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the average scores of the sample members of these difficulties due to the variables: (gender, level of study). The study recommended reconsidering the size of the prescribed material, establishing special mechanisms for students with literary backgrounds to reduce their difficulties, and taking advantage of the qualitative and quantitative criteria provided by the National Society of Science Teachers (NSTA) in preparing the course in terms of quantity and gender.
