This study aimed to define the performance evaluation of human resources and its relationship with job satisfaction of the employees at the Palestinian universities in Gaza Strip. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method in order to answer the study questions and test its hypotheses. A questionnaire was also designed to achieve this. The study population consisted of (991) people while the random sample contained (277) of the administrative officers. To analyze the data, SPSS program was also used. The study reached the following results: Although the Palestinian universities in Gaza Strip apply performance evaluation process, this is applied neither scientifically nor periodically. Besides, it is applied by the direct supervisor only. The study also showed that the decisions taken in terms of motivating, rewarding and promoting the employees have nothing to do with the evaluation results. In addition, there are no statistically differences in the study sample responses due to personal variables in terms of gender, age, period of experience and scientific qualifications. Yet, there are statistically differences in the sample responses due to personal variables related to the place of work. The results showed that the acceptance of the study sample concerning the evaluation process was medium. The study recommended the following: It is important to activate, apply, and improve the rewarding system and the moral and physical motives both positive and negative. It is also essential to relate that to the results of the performance evaluation. Universities should care about spreading the culture of performance evaluation among all the employees; the administration should support that and apply the results as well. It is also recommended that the performance evaluation system in Al Aqsa and Al Azhar Universities should be developed. All parties should be serious about the evaluation process and this should be applied by the highest administration level. Sharing different parties in this process is also advisable so that it is achievable with more accuracy and fairness. (Author's abstract)
