The aim of this study is to detect the level of cognitive flexibility and intellectual extremism and their relationship, among a group of (3589) students boys and girls from different departments in prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz university.to achieve the objectives of the study the researchers used cognitive flexibility, which was developed by (Dennis and Vander, 2010). After translating the text to Arabic, the researchers develop the intellectual extremism. The study results indicated that cognitive flexibility level was high, and the level of ideological extremism was average. The results showed a relationship between cognitive flexibility and intellectual extremism and that the direction of the relationship is inversely. The results indicated that there are significant differences in cognitive flexibility attributed to gender differences in favor of females, and students from science departments. While the results indicated that, there were no significant differences in the intellectual extremism, in gender and academic specialization. According to the results of the study, the study result recommended the preparation and implementation of outreach programs designed to make a necessary adjustment with new developments in the Arabic world. And educate the students about the dangers of ideological extremism and activating the role of universities through seminars and class room’s lectures, and suggested some books to teach in the classroom to make the students aware of extremism.
