تناول الدارس في هذا البحث حروف العطف، وهي: الواو، الفاء، ثم، حتى، أو، بل، لكن، لا، وأم. وتركزت الدراسة على دلالة هذه الحروف عند النّحاة والأصوليين، وبيان أسباب الخلاف في دلالة بعض الحروف وبيان الرّجح في ذلك. ثمّ عرض الدارس لبعض المسائل التطبيقية التي توضح أثر دلالة هذه الحروف في اختلاف الفقهاء، واتبع المنهج الوصفي. ومن أهداف هذه الدراسة: بيان معنى الحرف معنى ومبنى، وأيضاً توضيح دلالات حروف العطف عند النحاة والأصوليين. وممّا توصّلت إليه: إن الرّاجح في دلالة (الواو) هو مطلق الجمع، وفي (الفاء) الترتيب والتعقيب، وفي (ثم) الترتيب مع التراخي، وفي (حتى) الغاية، وفي (أو) الدلالة على أحد الشيئين أو الأشياء، وفي (بل) الإضراب، وفي (لكن) اللاستدراك. The study has investigated the Arabic conjunctions (wau, FAA, thumma, hatta, aww, BAL, lakin, laa and amm) with focus on the meaning of these articles according to Arab grammarians and scholars of Islamic jurisprudence. The study tends towhow reasons behind the differences over these particles and the most probable argument. The reasearcher has highlighted some samples to identify the differences between the grammarians and jurisprudence scholars. To do that, the researcher has adopted descriptive method in the study, which aims to show the menaing of these accordinating conjunctions according to Arab linguists and religious-men. The study concluded that the wau (and) is used most probably for addition, faa is used for sequence and commenting, thumma functions as slow sequence, hatte is used as subordinating conjunction to make an exception, aw is used as alternative, bal factions as an adversative conjunction that indicated negation or confirmation, laakin (but) is employed in the function of concession and contrast meaning.
