هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع ممارسات التخطيط الاستراتيجي بجامعة اليرموك/ الأردن من وجهة نظر أعضاء هيئة التدريس، والصعوبات التي قد تحد من قدرة الجامعة على ممارسة التخطيط الاستراتيجي. استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وصمم استبانة مكوّنة من 38 مفردة لقياس مدى تحقق مراحل التخطيط الاستراتيجي، وتكوّنت عينة الدراسة من 102 عضو هيئة تدريس من كلية التربية والآداب والعلوم، والعلوم الصحية، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن مستوى الممارسات جيدة، وهذا يدل على أن ثمة مجهودات تبذل من قبل إدارة الجامعة في تحسين وتطوير خطط الجامعة، وتنفيذ خطط طويلة ومتوسطة المدى، ولكنها في حاجة إلى مزيد من التطوير، كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية طبقاً لاختلاف الكلية (عملي، إنساني) ولصالح الكليات العلمية في معظم أبعاد التخطيط الاستراتيجي، في حين أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمتغيريْ الجنس أو الرتبة الأكاديمية، وكان من أبرز الصعوبات التي تواجه جامعة اليرموك في تطبيق التخطيط الاستراتيجي من وجهة نظر عينة الدراسة، هي ضعف الوعي بثقافة التخطيط الاستراتيجي، وقلة التدريب، وضعف الدعم المقدم من الإدارة العليا للجامعة، وقلة تحمس كثير من أعضاء هيئة التدريس للعمل التخطيطي، علاوة على غياب قنوات الاتصال، وضعف إستراتيجيات المتابعة والتقويم للخطط الإستراتيجية، وأوصت الدراسة ببعض الإجراءات لتطوير ممارسات التخطيط الاستراتيجي بجامعة اليرموك. The study aimed to identify the status quo of the strategic planning practice at Yarmouk University/ Jordan, from the viewpoint of faculty members. The also, aimed at identifying the difficulties that may limit the university ability to practicing strategic planning. To achieve this, the researcher used the descriptive analytic approach, and designed a questionnaire consisting of 38 items applied on a sample consisted of 130 faculty members from different colleges to measure the extent of achieving the stages of strategic planning. The study results showed that the level of university practices came within reasonable range from the viewpoint of the faculty members. Results also, indicated the existence of statistically significant differences due to the college variable (practical, human) and in favor of scientific colleges in most of the strategic planning dimensions. Results indicated lack of statistically significant differences due to the variables of sex or academic rank. The biggest difficulties facing the Yarmouk University in the application of strategic planning from the point of view of the study sample is lack of awareness of the strategic planning culture, lack of training, poor support from the senior management of the University, and the lack of enthusiasm of many of the members of the faculty to planned work, as well as the absence of communication channels, poor follow-up strategies and poor evaluation of strategic plans.
