هدف البحث الحالي إلى معرفة حاجات آباء وأمهات الأبناء المعوقين عقليًا "القابلين للتعلم" في مرحلتي التعليم والتأهيل. وتكونت العينة من 68 أباً وأماً، وتراوحت أعمارهم بين 23- 51 سنة بمتوسط 32.9 وانحراف معياري 7.38 سنوات. وتم استخدام استمارة البيانات الشخصية، ومقياس حاجات آباء وأمهات المُعاقين عقليًا (إعداد الباحثين). أسفرت النتائج عن وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا بالنسبة للفروق في النوع لصالح الأمهات في الفرض العام وفي الحاجات النفسية والاجتماعية عند مستوى دلالة 0.01. ولم تظهر فروق دالة في الحاجات المستقبلية والمادية. ووجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا بالنسبة لنوع المرحلة التعليمية لصالح مرحلة التعليم في الحاجات النفسية والاجتماعية عند مستوى دلالة 0.05، 0.01، ولصالح مرحلة التأهيل في الفرض العام وفي الحاجات المستقبلية والمهنية عند مستوى دلالة 0.01. ولم تظهر فروق في الحاجات المادية. وقام الباحثان بتفسير نتائج البحث وفق التراث النظري والدراسات السابقة. This research aim is to study the needs of parents of mentally handicapped children “Learnable” in the levels of education and rehabilitation. The sample consisted of 68 father and mother, aged 23-51 year average 32.9 and standard deviation 7.38 years. It was the use of personal data form, and measure the needs of parents of mentally handicapped (researcher). The results of the search for differences in kind to the presence of statistically significant differences in the direction of mothers in the public assumption in psychological and social needs at the level of significance 0.01. The result did not show the physical and future needs. As for the differences in the type of educational level has resulted in statistically significant differences in the direction of education in the psychological needs and social at the level of significance 0.05- 0.01, and in the direction of the stage rehabilitation imposition year and in the future needs and professional at the level of significance 0.01.
