تهدف الدراسة إلى الكشف عن العلاقة بين القلق بوصفه حالة والقلق بوصفه سمة وبين الاكتئاب لدى المراهقين من تلاميذ الصف التاسع من التعليم الأساسي في مدارس مدينة دمشق الرسمية، ومعرفة الفروق بين المراهقين في القلق بوصفه حالة والقلق بوصفه سمة وبين الاكتئاب تبعاً لمتغير الجنس. تكونت العينة من 655 طالباً وطالبة من تلاميذ الصف التاسع من التعليم الأساسي موزعين إلى 303 ذكور و352 إناث تم اختيارهم بطريقة عشوائية طبقية من مدارس مدينة دمشق الرسمية. وطُبق عليهم اختبار حالة وسمة القلق للكبارSTAI واختبار الشعور بالاكتئاب لدى المراهقين. أشارت النتائج إلى وجود ارتباط بين القلق بوصفه حالة والقلق بوصفه سمة وبين الاكتئاب لدى مراهقي العينة ومن الجنسين. تبين عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في القلق بوصفه حالة. بينما تبين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في القلق بوصفه سمة وفي الاكتئاب وذلك لصالح الإناث. This research aims at exploring the relationship between Anxiety as a state & Anxiety as a Trait and Depression on adolescents in the Primary Ninth class of the official schools of Damascus. It also aims at indicating the differences between adolescents in Anxiety as a state & Anxiety as a Trait and Depression according to gender (males and females) The sample of the study consisted of (655)child (303) males,(352)females in the Primary Ninth class of the official schools of Damascus. This sample was selected randomly by using a stratified random sample.The tools of the study was the test of State-Trait Anxiety Inventory STAI which prepared by Abeed Alrakeeb Ahmad ALbouhire 2005 & the test of feeling of Depression on adolescents which was prepared by the researcher, that tool was applied on a pilot sample and it was tested for its validity and reliability. This research comes up with the following results: 1) There is a relationship between Anxiety as a state -Trait and Depression of the members of the sample, the value of the correlation factor between Anxiety as a state and Depression was (0.63), while the value of the correlation factor between Anxiety as a Trait and Depression was(0.69). 2) There is a statistical significant relationship between Anxiety as a state - Trait and Depression of the members of the sample, the value of the correlation factor between Anxiety as a state and Depression of the males sample was (0.63) but the value of the correlation factor between Anxiety as a state and Depression of the females sample was(0.67) while the value of the correlation factor between Anxiety as a Trait and Depression of the males sample was (0.64) but the value of the correlation factor between Anxiety as a Trait and Depression of the females sample was(0.70). 3) There are no statistical significant differences in the Anxiety as a state between males and females. 4) There are statistical significant differences in the Anxiety as a Trait between males and females related to females. 5) There are no statistical significant differences in the Depression between males and females related to females.
