This study aims at evaluating the performance of the staff in the higher studies program in Taiz University from the point of view of the students enrolled in the program. It also aims at recognizing the positive and negative sides regarding the performance of the staff. The sample of the study includes 81 students (male and female). They have been chosen randomly (30%). The independent variables of the study are: sex, faculty and studying level. To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher used questionnaire consisting of (50) items. Each item is divided into three aspects. To answer the questions of the research, the researcher used statistical techniques such as: means, standard deviations, percentages; and T-Test. The results of study: 1) According to students, higher studies teachers' performance is average with a mean of (3.03). 2) There are no statistically significant differences at statistical level (œ = 05) in the performance of the staff in higher studies program from the point of view of the students enrolled in the program based on sex, faculty and studying level. The positive sides of the performance of the staff are as follows: 1) The staff takes into consideration the circumstances of the students who come from other cities, and it also take into consideration the lack of sources (books, journals, theses and dissertations). 2) The staff is democratic in accepting the opinions of the students and it also get them involved in the educational process and get in touch with them outside the campus of the university. The negative sides of the performance of the staff are as follows: 1) Teachers do nothing to provide students with the skills needed for conducting scientific research. Besides, the seminars that take place are not activated enough to enhance these skills. The evaluation is usually non-objective, and it is subject to the teachers' moods. On the basis of these results, this study comes out with some recommendations. (Published abstract)
