تعرف المشكلات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والدراسية التي تواجه الطلبة الجدد بجامعة الإسراء الخاصة بالأردن، ومعرفة فيما إذا كانت هناك فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في حدة هذه المشكلات تبعا لمتغيرات الجنس، مكان السكن، الجنسية، الكلية. تكونت العينة من 120 طالبا وطالبة، من الطلبة الجدد الذين سجلوا في الفصل الأول 2004-2005 في البرنامج الصباحي، في كليات الجامعة التالية: العلوم التربوية، الآداب، الحقوق، والعلوم الإدارية والمالية. وتم استخدام استبانة تتألف من 49 فقرة موزعة على ثلاثة مجالات: المجال الاجتماعي، المجال الدراسي، المجال الاقتصادي. أظهرت النتائج أن المشكلات التي تواجه الطلبة الجدد مرتبة تنازليا حسب حدتها كالآتي: المشكلات الاقتصادية، المشكلات الدراسية، والمشكلات الاجتماعية. وتبين عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في حدة المشكلات تبعا لمتغير الجنس، وعلى المجالات التالية: الاجتماعي والدراسي تبعا لمتغيرات السكن والجنسية والكلية ، بينما وجدت فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متغير السكن والمجال الاقتصادي ، كما وجدت فروق دالة إحصائيا على المجال المتعلق بالمشكلات الاقتصادية، وعلى الأداة ككل تبعا لمتغير الكلية. وأشارت النتائج أيضا وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المجالين الاجتماعي والاقتصادي، والمجالين الاجتماعي والدراسي، والمجالين الدراسي والاقتصادي. The purpose of this study was to identify the social, economic and academic problems facing freshmen students at Al-Esra Private University in Jordan. The study also attempted to examine the effects of some variables such as gender, major, place of residence, nationality. The sample of the study consisted of (120) male and female students, small helper covering Humanities College who enrolled at the first semester of 2004-2005. A questionnaire of (49) items was designed involve three dimensions: Social, Academic, and Economic. The major findings of this study was as follows: 1) The problems facing the students classified according to their severity were: economic, academic, and social, also results indicate that there were difficulties in paying tuition, high price of text book and cost of living, many exams, low grade of exams, and starting friendships, registration issues, social level, no time to study, and the difficulty of learning course material. 2) There was no statistically significant difference on the level of (α=0.05) on the strength of difficulty of the problems due to gender. 3) There was statistically significant differences between place of residence and economic domain, but there were no significant statistical differences on the domains of social, academic, due to place of residence. 4) There were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α=0.05) among the freshmen students toward the social and problems related to gender, while there were significant statistical differences related to economical problems and to the whole instrument. 5) There were no statistically significant differences on the level of the (α=0.05) on social and way of studying according to the college variable, but there were statistical differences on the academic domain related to economical problems and to the whole instrument according to the college variable. 6) The Pearson correlation factor indicated that were statistically significant differences (α=0.05) between social and economic on the dimensions of studying, it also revealed that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (α=0.001) between academic and economic domains.
