The present study aimed to identify the differences in psychological toughness and achievement motivation among a sample of students who failed in baccalaureate exam in Tizi-Ouzou, in the light of sex and academic specialization variables, and to identify if there are differences in achievement motivation according the Psychological toughness and sex and according the psychological toughness and academic specialization. In order to collect the necessary data, we tow scales such as psychological toughness scale of (Mikhimar), and the achievement motivation scale of Abdallatif khalifa (6002) were applied on a sample of (90) concerned students Finally the results of the study showed: 1) There are statistically significant differences in achievement motivation due to the variable of psychological toughness alone, and there are statistically significant differences in achievement motivation due to the variable of sex (males-females) alone, while these differences were not statistically significant in achievement motivation according to the interaction of psychological toughness and sex (males-females) for the study sample. 2) There are statistically significant differences in achievement motivation due to the variable of psychological toughness alone, and there are no statistically significant differences in achievement motivation due to the variable of academic specialization alone, and no statistically significant differences in achievement motivation due to the interaction of psychological toughness and academic specialty for the study sample.
