This research aimed at knowing the effectiveness of teaching by using scientific story according to the model of Felder and Silverman In communication skills and problems solving in science at the fifth - elementary grade pupils. To achieve the aims of the research, the fowling null hypotheses were formulated: 1) There is no statistical difference at level 0.05 between scores average of experimental group pupils, who studied using scientific story according to the Felder and Silverman model, and the scores average of control group pupils who studied according to the traditional method in communication skills. 2) There is no statistical difference at level 0.05 between scores average of experimental group pupils, who studied using scientific story according to the Felder and Silverman model, and the scores average of control group pupils who studied according to the traditional method in communication skills in problem solving. The researcher also set 16 teaching plans for the experimental group and 16 for the control group, the tools of the research were the communication skills test consisted of 10 items of multiple choice with three alternatives, and then counting the validity, reliability, discrimination and difficulty for this test, the second tool Consisted problem-solving test 20 items of multiple choice with three alternatives, the experiment was applied in the second semester, on 6/3/2016 to 20/4/2016. To arrive at the results and treating the data statistically, the second test was used for two samples and the results showed existence of significant statically differences behalf of experimental group in communication skills and problem-solving. In the light of results, the researcher concluded some conclusions, recommended the necessity of using scientific story according to the model of Felder and Silverman in science teaching because of its role in enhancing the learning level. Also, she recommended making training courses about the model. Furthermore, the researcher suggested using scientific story according to the model of Felder and Silverman in other researches with other variables and stages. (Published abstract)
