The transformational leadership and transactional leadership among public school principals and their relationship to organizational citizenship behavior of teachers [Article]
The study aimed to find out the practice degree leadership Styles (transformational, and transactional) of the public schools in Zarqa Governorate, and to explore the correlation between the leadership styles among the principals of public schools and the behavior of organizational citizenship among teachers. The Analytical Descriptive approach was used to answer the study questions. The study population consisted of 8750 faculty members, while, the study sample consisted of 414 members. The researcher used Bass and Avolio leadership questionnaire, after being translated into Arabic, and adjusting it for the purpose of this study, consisting of 32 items, and includes the identification of the organizational citizenship behavior consisting of 24 items, ensuring its validity and reliability before use. The study results showed the practice degree leadership is transformational leadership the first place, then the transactional leadership in the second place. And there is a positive and statistically significant correlation between the transformational leadership, transactional leadership and the practice degree of the organizational citizenship behavior. The study presented a set of recommendations in the light of the study results. (Published abstract)
