Degree of availability of creative thinking skills in evaluative activities in science books (Student & Activity) for the fourth primary class in kingdom of Saudi Arabia [Article]
The objective of this research is to identify the availability of creative thinking skills in evaluative activities in school science textbooks (student & activity) for fourth elementary grade, the researcher used descriptive method based on content analysis which perform description of creative thinking skills in evaluative activities in school text books for fourth elementary grade, the researcher has prepared a list of creative thinking skills (fluency, flexibility, originality) that should be available in the evaluative activities in developed textbooks for fourth elementary grade and were confirmed their sincerity and was identified the reality of creative thinking skills (fluency, flexibility, originality), the results showed availability of creative thinking skills in (student book /Science) are as following: fluency is available with repeating of 213 and with percentage of 91.02%, originality is available with repeating of 142 and with percentage of 60.68%, and skill flexibility is available with repeating of 84 and with percentage of 35.90% out of the total number of evaluation activities 234 which are available in (student book/ Science). On the other hand, availability of creative thinking skills in (activity book/ Science) are as following: fluency is available with repeating of 90 and with percentage of 52.63%, originality is available with repeating of 57 and with percentage of 33.33% and flexibility is available with repeating of 34 and with percentage of 19.88% of out of total number of evaluation activities 171 which are available in (activity book/ Science). The researcher recommended the development of the evaluative activities in (activity book/ Science) in terms of presenting new hypotheses about proposed solutions to the problems presented, and the interest in providing excitement and suspense in (activity book/ Science) and placing independent evaluative activities other than those presented in student's book.
