The current study aims at analyzing the content of social sciences textbooks for the primary stage according to the dimensions of citizenship and suggestions for developing them. Before preparing the tool. The researcher started reviewing the related educational literature and related previous studies. Then it he prepared it. It consisted of (11) dimensions and (227) indicators. The questionnaire is presented to experts and specialized in methods of teaching to give their opinions and notes. According to the notes. the questionnaire is modified. Some indicators has been reformed or deleted. Depending on the modified questionnaire. the researcher started analyzing the content of the textbooks according to the dimensions of citizenship. To ascertain the reliability of the analysis. The researcher gives a sample of the analyzed content to another analyst. By using Holsti equation. the reliability coefficient between the researcher and the other analyst was 85%. The researcher analyzed the content over time. The reliability coefficient was (93%). The idea and the subject were used as units of analysis because they are suitable for the purpose of the study and the nature of the analyzed content following consistent principles and steps. For the purpose of extracting the results. the researcher used the frequency and percentage frequency. The results of the study showed that: the historical dimension achieves (474) recurrences and a percentage recurrence (21.9%). followed by the national dimension (433). while the economic dimension achieves (254) repetitions and a percentage recurrence (11.73%). then comes the religious dimension (213) recurrence and a percentage recurrence (9.84%). after that. the social dimension comes with 203 frequencies. with a percentage frequency of (9.38%). followed by the patriotic dimension with (170) recurrences and a percentage recurrence (7.85%). then the personal dimension with 168 frequencies. The educational dimension comes with 105 frequencies. and a percentage frequency of (4.85%). followed by the political dimension with (96) frequencies and a percentage of (4.43%). The environmental dimension achieves (36) (1.66%). followed by the technological dimension (12) frequencies and a percentage frequency (0.005%). In light of these results. the researcher recommended several recommendations. including: 1) Citizenship should be based on awareness and deep thinking of the ways of life in other cultures. 2) The curriculum should be subjected to revision for the purpose of development and improvement by the Curriculum Writing Committee of the Ministry periodically. The researcher comes out with a number of proposals. including: 1) Conducting an identical study on the preparatory grades in the history course. 2) Conducting a study aiming at understanding the attitudes of students towards the dimensions and concepts of citizenship.
