This study aims to investigate the effect of a proposed unit in science for the intermediate school students, based on the environmental problems in the development of environmental awareness of the dangers of over hunting and the ability to make decisions about it. To achieve this, the researcher used a semi-experimental method. A test of the ability to a make decision has been developed, and the measure of the environmental awareness about the dangers of overhunting. The sample of the study consisted of 30 students from the Department of Education, at Al-Rass. The results of the study were as follows: there was a statistical significant difference of 0.05 level among the mean score of the pre and post applications for students of the experimental group in the scale of the environmental awareness of the dangers of overhunting which was in favor of the post application. There was also a statistical significant difference at the (α=0.05) level among the mean score of the pre and post applications for students of the experimental group in the ability test to make decisions about overhunting which was in favor of the post application. Hence, the study demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed unit.(Published Abstract)
