This study asserts the role of the national education curriculum in building a generation characterized by loyalty and belonging to his homeland. Thus, it becomes a must to develop the national studies curriculum in order to be more able to achieve this primary objective in the educational process. The study problem was how to develop the national education curriculum for first-grade secondary, to introduce a vision for its development in the light of both the reality of Saudi society and the contemporary global challenges, as well as to identify the experience of one of the American States in building a curriculum of national education for the domestication of it when introducing a vision for development. The study examined the concept of national education and some of the related concepts, and the major foundations followed in building a curriculum of national education, which consists of two factors: internal factors of the society, such as its culture, its values and ideology, and its language; and the external factors including the contemporary global challenges, such as the explosion of knowledge, technology, globalization, and quality, , which has had a significant effect on building the curriculum in general. After the presentation of the American experience, the study examined the curriculum of national education prescribed on first-grade secondary students. The study also provided a set of major notes including that the content of the curriculum is unable to achieve its goal, and therefore the study suggested a vision for the development of the national education curriculum for first-grade secondary based on the framework of a holistic vision for developing the national education curriculum at the secondary stage as a whole.(Published Abstract)
