This study tried to present the main ideas of the epistemological monotheistic model through one of the pioneers who adopted it, Ismail Al-Farouqi, the founder of Islamization of knowledge project. Farouqi aimed through his project to reform the social and humanistic sciences in general and the educational sciences in particular. The monotheistic model was based on a group of principles: unity of Creator, unity of the created, unity of truth, unity of epistemology and unity of life. The effects of this model were shown in the fields of epistemology, aesthetics, values and ethics. The study also discussed the most critical aspects of the educational crisis, as seen by Farouqi, its various elements in the educational system, like the invisibility and its influence upon the materialistic components, university leaders, university teaching stuff, syllabuses, preparation of students and funding crisis. On the other hand, the educational Islamic and Arabic thought suffered lots of crises; the most prominent of these were the epistemological crisis, the separation between thought and practice, the dichotomy of the religious/ the mundane (religious and cultural). This urged to find an epistemological model from which our Arabic Islamic thought could arise and which could cure these passive aspects and made for the horizons of epistemological integration. Farouqi suggested an epistemological methodology for educational reform. This methodology was based on the epistemological monotheistic model; it included: methodological steps to build up an alternative educational system and methodological measures for educational reform that included an invitation to unifying the educational system and reviewing the textbooks according to the epistemological theory of the monotheistic model, reviving unalienable property and planting the Islamic view in curricula. Among the issues of educational reform that the present study addressed is the one related to the university and re-erecting it in the light of the monotheistic model, confirming the changing and social role of the university and the role of the university in facing the epistemological problems: alienation, duplicity and polarization. The study also tackled the problem of epistemological integration and its relationship with educational renewal. To this point the study suggested some issues. Among them were some related to the source of epistemology (divine revelation and mind), culture and ethics (theoretical and practical), individual and society, unity of sciences and rediscovery of the social sciences in the light of the epistemological monotheistic model. The study also tackled how to gain systematic benefit of the monotheistic model for our contemporary educational thought and some problems associated with its application.(Published Abstract)
