The study aimed to develop the educational statistics course in a PhD curricula and methodology program at the Islamic University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud in light of the students’ research needs. The study sample consisted of (86) students who represent (64.66%) of the study population. The study used the descriptive approach, and the questionnaire was the data collection tool. The main findings of the study are: the problems of teaching the course of educational statistics, in the scope of problems related to the course, got an average of (3.93) which is within the high degree approval, the problems of teaching the educational statistics, in the scope of problems related to the student, got an average of (3.48) which is within the high degree approval, there are statistically significant differences at (0.05) level in the problems of the educational statistics due to the academic level variable for those who are in the research stage, there are no statistically significant differences in the problems of teaching the educational statistics course due to the variable of gender, the domain of the students' needs in selecting the statistical methods got an average of (4.42) which occurs within the very high degree approval, the domain of students' needs in dealing with the SPSS program got an average of (4.36) which occurs within the very high degree approval, presenting a suggested development of the educational statistics curriculum course in a PhD curricula and methodology program at the Islamic University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud in light of the students’ research needs which includes (the course title, objectives, vocabulary, activities, teaching methods, educational techniques, evaluation methods and references), the suggested development got (100%) agreement in terms of suitability degree from the specialists’ point of view.
