هدف البحث إلى التعرف على أثر استخدام الواقع الافتراضي في تنمية بعض المفاهيم الرياضية والعلمية لأطفال ما قبل المدرسة وفي تنمية قدرتهم على التخيل. ولتحقيق ذلك، استخدمت الباحثتان كلّا من: المنهج الوصفي في إعداد الإطار النظري للبحث (الواقع الافتراضي والمفاهيم الرياضية والعلمية والتخيل)، وفي إعداد أدواته، وكذلك في تحليل النتائج وتفسيرها، وتقديم التوصيات والمقترحات؛ وكذلك تم استخدام المنهج شبه التجريبي في التجربة الميدانية للبحث، وتم عمل تصميم تجريبي من مجموعة من أطفال المستوى الذاتي KG2 في إحدى الروضات بمحافظة أسيوط، وجاءت النتائج مؤكدة وجود فرق دال إحصائياً عند مستوى 0.01 بين متوسطي درجات التلاميذ في التطبيق القبلي والتطبيق البعدي لكل من اختبار المفاهيم الرياضية والمفاهيم العلمية واختبار التخيل، لصالح التطبيق البعدي. مما أكد أهمية استخدام الواقع الافتراضي في تنمية بعض المفاهيم العلمية والرياضية لأطفال ما قبل المدرسة وعلى تنمية قدرتهم على التخيل. ولقد تمت معالجة نتائج البحث باستخدام برنامج المعالجة الإحصائية SPSS لأدوات البحث، حيث جاءت النتائج تؤكد فاعلية التجربة.
