The current research aims to determine the level of social anxiety among middle school students and identify the level of social anxiety in males and females as well as to determine the level of social anxiety among the students of the scientific section and the comparison between them and the literary section. The research sample consisted of (356) for both sexes of junior high students in the capital of Diyala province for the academic year (2012-2013) and Use test Altus to the two independent samples and compared with the values derived from the mathematical community level expected. The research tools has adopted a search on the scale prepared Beauty ( 1997) and extracted honesty apparent scale of the presentation to a group of experts in the field of education and psychology , and will emerge researcher characteristics psychometric was calculated force discriminatory ranged between (0,92-0,52) and therefore longer paragraphs the scale of discrimination is good and reached reliability coefficient scale (0,82) for the way re- test, were measured social anxiety for the purpose of verifying the validity of the research hypotheses and processed data using test Altai and extract the expected level of (76) with the level achieved and showed search results, social anxiety exists among males and females in varying degrees in favor of males more than females , as well as the results show that social anxiety among the students of the largest literary section of the scientific section students. In light of the results of research, has to formulate a set of recommendations and proposals in the current study to conduct further studies of social anxiety because it is the result of reasons, including social and cultural changes , economic , psychological and family making calls to identify them and develop successful solutions.
