هدفت الدّراسة الكشف عن أثر استراتيجيّة لعب الدّور في تحسين بعض مهارات التّحدّث لدى طلاب الصّفّ التّاسع، ولتحقيق هدف الدّراسة بُني اختبار موقفيّ مصحوبًا بالتّسجيل والتّصوير، مكوّنًا من 10 مواقف، اختار الطّالب منها خمسة مواقف؛ ليتحدّث مدّة دقيقة على الأقل عن كلّ موقف. وتكوّن أفراد الدّراسة من 46 طالبًا، وقد قُسِّم أفراد الدّراسة إلى مجموعتين: تجريبيّة تألفت من 25 طالبًا ، دُرّست باستخدام استراتيجيّة لعب الدّور، و21 طالبًا في المجموعة الضّابطة، دُرّست بالطّريقة الاعتياديّة الموصوفة بدليل المعلّم. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدّراسة الآتي: وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائيّة عند مستوى الدّلالة (α=0.05) بين المتوسّطات الحسابيّة لأداء أفراد الدّراسة على جميع مهارات اختبار مهارة التّحدّث ككل تعزى لمتغيّر طريقة التّدريس المستخدمة لصالح أداء المجموعة التّجريبيّة. وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائيّة عند مستوى الدّلالة (α=0.05) بين المتوسّطات الحسابيّة لأداء أفراد الدّراسة على جميع مهارات اختبار مهارة التّحدّث تعزى لمتغيّر طريقة التّدريس المستخدمة لصالح أداء المجموعة التّجريبيّة. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of the role playing strategy on enhancing some speaking skills of the ninth grade students. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a speaking test consists of 10 situations from which a student had to choose five situations to talk about for at least one minute on each. These situations were videotaped and recorded. The participants of the study were 46 ninth grade male students and divided into two groups: experimental group of 25 students taught with the role- playing strategy and a control group of 21 students taught by the current method as described in The Teacher’s Book. The results of the study revealed statistically significant difference at (α= 0. 05) between the mean scores of the ninth grade students’ performance of the overall skills of the speaking test due to the teaching method used in favor of the experimental group. Moreover, the results revealed a statistically significant difference between the two mean scores of the ninth grade students’ performance of the five skills of the speaking test due to the teaching method variable used in favor of the experimental group.
