يهدف هذا المقال إلى إبراز أهمية دور المعلم المؤهل في العملية التعليمية، والتعريف بالمعايير المهنية للتدريس، وأنواعها، وكيفية صياغتها وتحكيمها، ويناقش ضرورة إدخالها في العملية التعليمية في السودان لتحقيق الجودة التعليمية. لقد شارك كاتب هذا المقال في وضع المعايير المهنية للتدريس في المملكة العربية السعودية أثناء فترة عمله هناك. ومن واقع تلك التجربة، رأى أن السودان يمكن أن يحقق جودة التعليم، عندما يدخل هذه المعايير في اختيار وتدريب المعلمين. اشتملت مصادر البيانات على المراجع ذات الصلة بالموضوع ومنشورات ورشة عمل التدريب على وضع المعايير المهنية للتدريس والتي حضرها الكاتب في رئاسة وزارة التر بية والتعليم بالمملكة العربية السعودية، اإلدارة العامة للتقويم والجودة التربوية في مدينة الرياض. يقترح الكاتب بعض الطرق التي يمكن أن تساعد في إدخال المعايير المهنية للتدريس في السودان. كلمات مفتاحية: معيار، معلم، تدريس، صياغة المعيار، قيم تدريسية، جودة، تعليم السودان. This article objects to depict the important role of the qualified teacher in the educational process, and to define teaching professional standards, their types, editing and assessment, and to discuss the need for their introduction into Sudanese Education to achieve educational quality. The author was a participant into the preparation of Saudi’s teaching professional standards when he was working there. Based on that experience, he saw that Sudan can achieve teaching quality when these standards are introduced into selection and training of teachers. Data sources have included relevant literature, and publications provided during the workshop on training on teaching professional standards which was held at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Education, General Administration for Evaluation and Educational Quality, Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The author proposes some suggestions to assist the introduction of teaching professional standards in Sudan. (Published Abstract)
