This study is aimed to identify the role of university towards community responsibility in the government universities in Riyadh from the estimation of the universities leadership to this role, with proposals for the development of universities’ performance in social responsibility. The study used a descriptive approach survey and adopted the questionnaire for data collection, which included 63 items. The questionnaire was distributed to 107 universities leaderships in Riyadh University. In general, the results showed that there is a good role of universities towards the community responsibility, but this responsibility still not determined in the form that make clear and organized standard with an apparent methodology and financed budget. What is given till now comes in the third phase of the university priority. A higher rating was recorded for Imam University compared with other universities. Another difference is related to the job layers where the higher leadership recorded the best achievement. The study showed also that there is no significant difference related to the variable of scientific ranking or college type. The study suggested a set of recommendations for the need to expand the circle of social responsibility. It is noted that it should not be limited to deanships and community services center only but shifting this responsibility to a wider circle that make it a standard culture of the University.
