هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن درجة انتشار الأفكار اللاعقلانية لدى طلبة جامعتي مؤتة والهاشمية في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية وعلاقتها ببعض المتغيرات، ولتحقيق ذلك تم اعتماد المقياس المعرب عن قائمة المعتقدات اللاعقلانية (Inventory Beliefs Irrational (IBI) وتطبيقه على عينة بلغت (1607) طلاب. وكشفت الدراسة أن مجالات أداة الدراسة جميعها جاءت بدرجة متوسطة باستثناء مجـال التعصب والذي جاء بدرجة مرتفعة، وأظهرت النتائج فروقا دالة إحصائيا عند (α≤0.05) في الأفكار اللاعقلانية تعزى لمتغير الجنس على المجالات جميعها باستثناء مجال التجنب، وكانت الفروق لصالح الذكور في القلق، وطلب التأييد، ولصالح الإناث فـي التعـصب، وانّعدام المسؤولية عن الانفعالات، ولمتغير الكلّية على مجال التعصب، وتجنب المشكلات، وطلب التأييد الكلي ولصالح طلبة الكلّيات الأدبية، ولمتغير المعدل التراكمي على المجالات جميعها وعلى الأداة ككلّ، وكانت الفروق لصالح طلبة السنة الرابعة فـي مجال القلق، ومجال انعدام المسؤولية عن الانفعالات، ولصالح طلبة السنة الأولى في مجال التعصب، وعلى الأداة ككلّ، وفي مجال تجنّب المشكلّات لصالح طلبة السنة الثانية والثالثة. This study aimed at revealing the prevalence of irrational ideas among students of the University of Mutah and Hashemite University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its relationship with some variables. And to achieve this, the adoption of the measure expressed the list of irrational beliefs (Irrational Beliefs Inventory (IBI)), and it was applied on the sample which amounted to 1607 students. The study revealed that all areas of the study tool were a moderate degree with the exception of the area of intolerance, which came with a high degree. And the results showed statistically significant differences at (α≤0.05) in the irrational ideas according to gender variable on all the fields with the exception of the field of avoidance, and the differences were in favor of males in the fields of anxiety and request support, and in favor of females in the fields of intolerance and lack of responsibility for emotions. Also, the differences were attribute able to the variable of college on the field of intolerance, problems avoiding, request support, and total in favor of literary colleges students, and to the cumulative average variable on all the fields and on the tool as a whole. And the differences were in favor of fourth year students in the field of anxiety and lack pf responsibility for emotion, and in favor of first-year students in the field of intolerance, and on the tool as a whole in the area of problems avoiding in favor of second and third year students.
