سعت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على الأسباب والعوامل التي أدت إلى تسرب طلاب السنة التحضيرية في جامعة نجران وتقديم مقترحات وحلول لتطوير العمل في برنامج السنة التحضيرية، وتقليل نسبة الهدر والتسرب إلى أقل حد ممكن. ولتحقيق أهداف هذه الدراسة صمّم الباحث استبانة تكونت من جزأين: الجزء الأول عن المعلومات والخصائص الديموغرافية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية للعينة، والجزء الثاني تكون من 26 عبارة عن أسباب التسرب أجاب عنها 76 طالباً متسرباً من السنة التحضيرية لعام 1429- 1430ه. وقد استخدم الباحث التكرارات والنسب المئوية والمتوسطات والانحرافات المعيارية لتحليل البيانات التي جُمعت من العينة. وكانت أبرز النتائج كما يأتي: 1) معظم الآباء من ذوي الدخل المحدود، ويعملون في وظائف بسيطة، بالإضافة إلى أن معظم الآباء والأمهات لم تتجاوز مؤهلاتهم الدراسية المرحلة المتوسطة في التعليم. كما بيّنت الدراسة أن النسبة العظمى من الطلاب المتسرّبين من الأسر ذات الحجم الكبير، ويقع ترتب معظمهم ضمن المراكز الثلاثة الأولى بين إخوتهم. ويجمعون بين مشاهدة التلفاز وتصفح الإنترنت ولعب البلاستيشن. 2) كما أكدت الدراسة على تأثير العوامل الدراسية والشخصية والتنظيمية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية بدرجة كبيرة إلى متوسطة. كما قدمت الدراسة بعض المقترحات والحلول لعلاج تلك المشكلة. The main purpose of the study was to identify the causes and the factors that led to the dropout of the preparatory year students at Najran University and to make suggestions and solutions to develop the preparatory year program, and reduce dropout and attrition to the least extent possible. To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher designed a questionnaire consisted of two parts: Part I to get information about the demographic, economic and social characteristics of the sample, and the second part consist of 26 statements about the causes of dropout. It was answered by 76 dropout students of the preparatory year for the year 1429-1430 AH. The researcher used frequencies, percentages, averages and standard deviations for the analysis of data collected. The major findings of this study were: 1) Most parents are working in low jobs, of the lowest category of low-income, in addition to most fathers and mothers of dropout students did not exceed the intermediate school. The study also demonstrated that the majority of the dropout students were belongs of large size families, located within the top three among their brothers. The academic, personal, organizational, economic, and social factors were largely to the medium effect. The study also provided some suggestions and solutions for the treatment of that problem.
