This study aims to identify the training needs in the professional competencies according to the systems approach for some facul ty members of College of Education at King Saud University in Riyadh. It also aims to identify the most important training needs of the faculty members of College of Education in the personal competence. Moreover, it aims to identify the most important tra ining needs of the faculty members of College of Education in the competence of preparation and implementation of the lecture. The researcher uses the descriptive and deductive approach bases on the previous literature to achieve the objectives of study. T he researcher uses the systems approach in an attempt to include all the key factors that affect the professional competency of the faculty member. The researcher uses an open questionnaire, an enclosed questionnaire and an in - depth interview as study tool s to collect data am information. The researcher uses the descriptive statistical techniques of frequency, percentages and mean as well as median, standard deviation and value of Chi - square. The purposive study sample consists of (8) faculty members of the College of Education, (4) belonging to the eight faculty members and (53) of postgraduate students to determine the need of the faculty members according to the professional competencies. The study results show the existence of a training need for faculty members of the College of Education in the personal competency. It also shows the existence of a training need for faculty members of the College of Education in the competency of preparation and implementation of the lecture. The study recommends the fac ulty member, head of department and students to contribute in identifying the need. Also, to take the assessment of the beneficiary of the service that is provided by a faculty member. (Pubished Abstract)
