The study aimed to examine kindergarten children's perceptions of robots, and to identify their human characteristics, including the robot's gender, function, and feelings. The study adopted a qualitative approach and used the interview as a tool for collecting data. The interview was conducted with a sample of kindergarten children aged between five and six years and studying in two government schools in the city of Riyadh. The children were shown multiple pictures of robots to obtain their opinions and views about robots, their functions and types. The results of the study showed that there is no relationship between the gender and age of children regarding their perceptions of the robot, and that most children of all genders and ages had their perceptions of the gender of the robot (male) and their function is household chores. They also see that it had made from iron, despite the various shapes that were presented to them, except for the Saudi robot (Sarah). All the children agree that it is human like us. Most children have the desire to meet a robot in the real world. (Published abstract)
