هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تعرف مستوى الذكاء الانفعالي وعلاقته بفاعلية القائد لدى مديري مدارس تربية البترا وتربية وادي السير في الأردن، ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة استخدم الباحث استبانتين الأولى لقياس مستوى الذكاء الانفعالي، والثانية لقياس درجة فاعلية القائد، وقد تم التحقق من صدقهما وثباتهما، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من 102 مديرًا ومديرة، وقد أشارت النتائج إلى أن مستوى الذكاء الانفعالي لدى مديري المدارس قد جاء بدرجة متوسطة، وكذلك درجة فاعلية القائد جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة 0.05=α في مستوى الذكاء الانفعالي تعزى لتفاعل متغيرات الجنس والمؤهل العلمي ومستوى المدرسة والخبرة ولصالح ذكور من حملة الماجستير في المدارس الأساسية في مجال التأثير المثالي، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة 0.05=α تعزى لمتغير المؤهل العلمي في درجة تقدير فاعلية القائد، كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين مستوى الذكاء الانفعالي ودرجة فاعلية القائد، وقد أوصت الدراسة ضرورة تدريب مديري المدارس على موضوع الذكاء الانفعالي. This study aims to investigate the level of emotional intelligence and its relationship with the effectiveness among the leaders of the schools’ principals at Petra and Wadi Al-sair directorates in Jordan. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used two questionnaires; the first one is to measure the level of emotional intelligence, and the second one is to measure the degree of a leader’s effectiveness. The validity and reliability of the instrument were calculated. The sample of the study consisted of 102 principals. The results of the study indicated that, the level of emotional intelligence and the leader’s effectiveness for the principal of the school was moderate. The results also indicated that there are significant statistical differences α=0.05 at the level of emotional; intelligence referred to the interactive demographic variables (gender, qualification, school level and an experience) in favor of males who hold a master’s degree at the elementary schools in the optimal effect. On the other hand, the results revealed that there are no significant statistical differences a=0.05 related to the qualification at the estimation of a leader’s effectiveness. In addition, the results indicated that there is a significant correlation between the level of emotional intelligence and the degree of the leader’s effectiveness. Finally, one of the recommendations of the study is the necessity of offering training courses to the schools’ principal especially in emotional intelligence. (Published abstract)
