هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة اتجاهات معلمي الدراسات الاجتماعية نحو تنمية مهارات التفكير الإبداعي لدى طلبة المرحلة الأساسية العليا في مديرية تربية عمان الثالثة، وعلاقته بمتغيرات: المؤهل العلمي والخبرة. وتم اختيار عينة عشوائية مكونة من 133 معلما ومعلمة، وتكونت أداة الدراسة من 45 فقرة موزعة على ثلاثة مجالات، هي: إتجاهات المعلمين نحو تنمية قدرات التفكير الإبداعي، إتجاهات المعلمين نحو الكشف عن المهارات الإبداعية وتحديدها، إتجاهات المعلمين نحو تشجيع وتبني الإبداع. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن اتجاهات المعلمين نحو تنمية مهارات التفكير الإبداعي لدى الطلبة إيجابية، مع وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في اتجاهات المعلمين نحو تنمية مهارات التفكير الإبداعي لدى الطلبة تعزى لمتغير المؤهل العلمي، ولصالح حملة شهادة الدراسات العليا، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلاله إحصائية في اتجاهات المعلمين نحو تنمية مهارات التفكير الإبداعي لدى الطلبة تعزى لمتغير الخبرة (سنوات الخدمة)، وفي ضوء النتائج قدم الباحث عددا من التوصيات. This study sought to identify attitudes of social studies teachers toward the development of creative thinking skills among students in the basic stage at Amman third Education Directorate, and its relationship to variables: qualifications and experience. The study selected a random sample of 133 teachers and used a questionnaire of 45- items, distributed on three areas: attitudes of teachers towards the development of creative thinking abilities, teachers’ attitudes towards the detection and identification of creative skills, attitudes of teachers towards the promotion and adoption of innovation. The study found that attitudes of teachers towards the development of creative thinking skills in students are positive, with significant statistical differences in the attitudes of teachers towards the development of creative thinking skills in students due to the variable of academic qualification, and in favor of holders of upper certificates. However, there were no significant statistical differences in the trends of teachers towards the development of creative thinking skills in students due to experience (years of service). In light of the results the researcher presented a number of recommendations. (Published abstract)
