A1 المصري، أماني عزت AB This study aimed at identifying the prediction ability of negative self-concept, Optimism and pessimism in learned helplessness. The study sample consisted of (53) male and female students who were joining Source rooms in public schools in the capital Amman, aged between (9-11) years old. To achieve goals of the study, the researcher prepared three scales, the first one is learned helplessness scale, the second was the scale of negative self-concept, and the third was the scale of optimism and pessimism. Acceptable validity and reliability indicators were reached and justified for the purposes of the study. The study results showed that the level of learned helplessness for students with learning disabilities was high in the total score of the scale of learned helplessness with average (3.85), and in the level of negative self-concept in the total score of the scale of negative self-concept with average (3.68).The study results also revealed that the level of optimism and pessimism came at a total average of (4.03), which indicates a high degrees of prevalence of pessimism on the scale of optimism and pessimism.. The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the learner deficit due to the variable negative self-concept, optimism and pessimism, while statistically significant differences were found for learned helplessness due to the variable of sex. Finally, overall correlation coefficient between the three variables of the study and learned helplessness (14.6%) Step Wise Regression showed that the variable of sex was statistically significant which was (0.392), The researcher concludes with recommendation for conducting further studies on learned helplessness with other variables in different environments and different samples.
